Everyone on the committee was saddened to hear the news of the passing of Tim Lawson-Cruttenden, of one of our former Chairs and a founding member of SAHCA. Tim died on 17 April 2019 while on holiday in Gibraltar. Our thoughts are with his family, colleagues and all who knew him at this sad time.
Tim was educated at Harrow and Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge. He was a former British Army Lieutenant in the Blues and Royals and was an honorary legal advisor to the Regiment; he was also the secretary of the Old Harrovian Law Society. Many of you will remember him as our chair from 2007 until 2009, but throughout his career he was a committed supporter of advocacy and of the association, both in this country and abroad (including through his participation in our multi-year pro bono project to deliver advocacy training to trainers in Tanzania). He will be greatly missed.
