QASA is now being rolled out with advocates being required to register at their level which, if a jury trial advocate, will be judicially evaluated in due course. This course is aimed at QASA LEVEL 2 jury trial advocates and LEVEL 3 advocates and will specifically address areas of QASA judicial evaluation at those levels.

A case study will be sent out to delegates in advance and much of the time will be spent in small groups practising witness examination techniques with the opportunity to be filmed and for a DVD recording of the exercises to be taken away for further reflection.

Individual feedback with in depth guidance on examination in chief and cross examination will be given in the small groups from experienced advocacy trainers.

Plenary sessions on techniques in examination in chief, impeachment as part of cross-examination; rhetorical devices as part of submissions including closing speeches.

The course fee includes a private dinner with delegates and course leaders and bed and breakfast at the 4* venue as well as the usual refreshments throughout the day. Previous delegates have enjoyed the real ale served at the Stables Pub within the grounds and as a guest you can take advantage of the complimentary access to Cookridge Hall Health and Fitness and preferential rates are available at four local golf courses within 4 miles for those who want to extend their stay over the weekend.

All your ‘advocacy’ CPD hours are offered in this course giving 12 hours CPD including advanced preparation time. The price has been held at the 2012 rate, £385 for members and £435 for non members. Log in to book as a member or join SAHCA now and take advantage of the member price.
