This course is specifically designed for those practising in the civil courts and is based on a civil case study  and includes aspects of written advocacy as well as oral advocacy.

The course will cover how to prepare a case using case analysis and case theory,  the essentials of amplification of a witness statement previously served, cross-examination and  re-examination.The main emphasis will be to ensure that delegates practice these skills in small groups led by an experienced advocacy trainer.

Additionally, there will be a focus on the preparation of skeleton submissions to be placed before the Judge prior to a hearing commencing and consideration of the closing submissions to the Judge.

There will be practical exercises based on a civil case study sent to delegates with instructions for advance preparation.

The 6 CPD hours for this course include the preparation time.

The course fee includes all documentation, refreshments and cold buffet lunch.

Please note that the case study is the same as used with this course last year. One delegate has already repeated the course and found it valuable to be able to concentrate on the advocacy based on a familiar case study. Many delegates have repeated the one day advocacy courses and learn new things each time.
