CE File Pilot Scheme Practice Note Issued

As part of the Court’s gradual move across to digital working, the Queen’s Bench Division (excluding the Administrative Court) has been the latest area of the High Court to be moved onto the CE-File pilot scheme. For those unfamiliar with it, CE-file is a web-based portal used for uploading formal pleadings and other documentation which would historically have had to be physically lodged at Court and promises to eventually do away with the all too familiar experience of turning up for a hearing at the Court only to find that the court file or trial bundle has not been delivered. The transition across to the new system is going to have implications for existing cases filed in the QB division since mid-November 2018 (and some earlier cases), as well as all new proceedings, and Senior Master Fontaine has issued a practice note to assist court users to understand what it will mean for them:
